Showa Sangyo Group (“The Group”) has established the Showa Sangyo Group Privacy Policy as indicated below in order to properly protect personal information and handle it accurately and safely. We are striving to protect personal information by thoroughly disseminating it to executives and employees.

Note: “The Group” in this Policy refers to domestic consolidated subsidiaries and non-consolidated subsidiaries listed in the List of Group Companies (Japanese Version Only).

1. Compliance with laws and regulations

The Group complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws, regulations, and guidelines.

2. Purpose of use of personal information

Regarding the acquisition of personal information, the Group publicly announces (including public announcement by this Policy) or notifies of the purpose of use, and then acquires the same by lawful and fair means, including asking users to fill the information in application forms or other documents, or to input the same in electronic media such as websites.
In addition, the Group uses personal information only to the extent necessary to achieve the following purposes of use, and handles it properly, except as required by laws, regulations, and guidelines.

The purposes of use of personal information are as follows.

  • Shipping and collection of payment of purchased products, etc., and after-sales service

  • Lotteries for campaigns, sweepstakes, etc. and shipping of prizes to winners

  • Provision of various guidance and information on the Group's business
  • Shipping of shareholder benefit items
  • Management and recording of general meetings of shareholders
  • Management of shareholders as stipulated in the Companies Act, etc.

(4) Personal information on job applicants

  • Communication with job applicants (including those on internship) and provision of various information
  • Works related to recruitment activities
  • Recording and management of recruitment-related works

(5) Personal information on employees

  • Necessary business communications and procedures
  • Communication with health insurance unions, corporate pension funds, and labor unions, and communication among the Group companies
  • Investigation and recording based on laws, regulations, etc.
  • Notifications and reports to government offices

3. Provision to third parties

The Group does not disclose or provide personal data to third parties other than subcontractors without obtaining the prior consent of the identifiable person, except as required by laws, regulations, and guidelines.
In some cases, the Group may outsource all or part of works involving the handling of personal information to third-party subcontractors. In such instance, we select a subcontractor that meets the necessary standards regarding the management of personal information, enter into an agreement that determines the protection of personal information, and provide necessary and appropriate supervision.

4. Joint use

The Group may share personal data among Group companies.

5. Safety management measures

To prevent leakage, loss, falsification, unauthorized use, etc. of personal data, the Group takes necessary and reasonable measures in accordance with laws, regulations, and guidelines, and manages personal data appropriately.
An overview of the Group's safety management measures is as follows.

  • We have formulated this Policy regarding compliance with laws and regulations to ensure the proper handling of personal data.
  • We appoint a personal information protection supervisor and clearly stipulate the responsibilities and authority of employees regarding the secure management of personal information.
  • We provide ongoing education to employees who handle personal information regarding matters to be noted on the handling of personal data.
  • We take measures to prevent theft and loss, such as storing documents or electronic media containing personal data in a locked place and storing electronic data on designated servers with access rights.
  • We have introduced a system to protect against unauthorized access, etc.

6. Other

  • The Group may amend all or part of this Policy in order to respond to changes in laws, regulations, etc.
  • The Group's sites may use Google Analytics, a service from Google LLC, which uses cookies to collect data. The data does not contain any information that identifies a specific individual. In addition, customers can stop the Group from collecting information using Google Analytics by disabling cookies, so please check your browser settings.

7. Inquiries

If we receive a request for disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, etc. of retained personal data, we will respond appropriately in accordance with laws, regulations, and guidelines after confirming the identity of the requester.
